OUR IMPACT

Goodman Place

GP houses 45 formerly homeless Hamiltonians with a mental illness diagnosis and substance use issues. Goodman Place practices Housing First principles that are delivered through trauma informed care, and harm reduction philosophies. Mental health treatment, rental support and supportive services work in tandem to assist individuals with maintaining housing.

Dove House

From Jan 1, 2022, to September 30, 2022:


  • 968 - calls for help to our Crisis Hotline
  • 21 - monthly average of individuals in the shelter
  • 645 - requests for shelter
  • 94 -  individuals created safety plans
  • 204 -rides provided by YWCA through Lyft
  • 10 - pets that came to the shelter with their owners

Racial Justice

Health

  • 75 Mothers served during Ending Infant Mortality Baby Shower
  • 100+ Community members and healthcare professionals view Toxic: A Black Woman’s Story. This is an educational video designed to stimulate discussion about the impact racism on pregnant women.

Education

  • Support of Melanated Matters; A school based club committed to establishing Black and Brown excellence and reducing barriers to education in school.
  • Partnerships with local schools to provide training and support to create cultures that support all students.


Community & Civic Engagement

  • Hosted Hamilton Juneteenth Celebration where 300 community members and 35+ local businesses joined us for the celebration of freedom and Black culture.
  • Partnered with three local organizations providing training, consultation and assessment.
  • Hosted two local candidate debates for local and state level elections.
